We had a great time with Kelly & Ben on their day at Moonlite Gardens in Cincinnati's Coney Island Park. The weather was perfect! This was one of those locations where there will always be more ideas for great photos than you will ever have time to get to....here's just a few highlights from their night!

When possible, we love to get some night shots with our couples since that is one of "our things" we do...the great thing about Moonlite is being able to use the Merry-Go-Round all by yourself!... :)

One of the great things about having a network of other photographers and friends is being able to tag along occaisionally and just shoot and experiment. I got to do just that last weekend with Kim & Joe on their wedding in downtown Dayton. All too often as photographers can get involved in our own little worlds and how we always do things. It's nice to break out of that every now and then and discover some new opportunities!

For Beth & Joe's wedding, we started at St. Joseph's in downtown Dayton and then to the Dayton Art Institute for the reception.

I I kind of liked the Nautilus effect as I headed up to the balcony....

Loved the cake and the favors!

It was a beautiful day outside that made the rotunda area gorgeous but a little challenging....Beth & Joe on their first dance.....

Father daughter dance......

No...Kim didn't slip and fall..she's just not bashful about taking the angle she wants for a shot!

This summer has seen some weddings where the kids were really getting into the dancing - and Beth & Joe's day was no exception!

Even in a fast paced day we managed to get some nice quiet time with Beth and Joe...congratulations to the two of you!

So for you other photographers out there...if you haven't yet connected with others in your area definitely do so! Everyone benefits from the learning, helping and association!

Teagan & Tyler Street Session...in Dayton, Ohio

When it came time to do Teagan & Tyler's Street Session in downtown Dayton, we really couldn't ask for better weather or light! One thing about downtown Dayton is you can get a really nice variety of looks in a very small area....we had fun hitting a couple of old favorites - as well as trying out some new discoveries too!

Of course, if I see fountains I'm going to end up shooting through them!

It was soooo nice of someone to paint that heart on the wall... :)

Anytime I see an opportunity for something edgy or moody I'm there....

Hey everyone it's Darrin...I thought I would toss up a few pics of Deanna and myself shooting lately. We've had some fun with other photographer friends coming along lately too, including Leigh Caraccioli, who is helping us out a little bit this year and also our local friend Kelly Settle. First up was Kelly coming along during Sara & Troy's engagement session in Cincinnati. We spent a little time in Eden Park, near the Krohn Conservatory, where Sara & Troy's wedding was being held, as well as spent some time in Mt. Adams and Newport On The Levee. We usually try to give a little visual feedback to our couples as we're shooting...it's not only fun for them but it also helps to build confidence that they're doing just fine on getting the shots we want to get for them!

We're also never afraid to demonstrate of course!

Here's Kelly on the streets and sidewalks of Mt. Adams...literally....

More fun in Mt. Adams...this time with Emily & Ben and Deanna helped shoot this one with me.

We have started doing "same day slide shows" whenever possible...maybe a little more details on that another time...but here is Deanna and Leigh beginning to load and sort some images on Sara & Troy's wedding day.

Leigh jumped in a shot a few of us while we were spending some time with Sara and the girls before the ceremony.....

Leigh moves rather quickly and you never know where she's going to show up! As you can see below....of course in between all of the hats she wears at home and behind the camera - she's also one of the Twitterati - so some of you may know her better as @fleurdeleigh. For this photo I think I'm calling her @fleurdeTREE!

...and of course, as photographers, it's pretty much a given that we'll go about anywhere to get the shot we want! Here's Deanna up to here eyeballs in clover....

So there you go - a little look into us keeping busy, and we'll have some more to share in the not too distant future, as well as some tips and insight for other photographers too!

Sarah & Jason...Columbus Street Session!

It had been quite awhile since doing a Street Session over in Columbus, so it was great to shoot Sarah & Jason's session while we roamed around Worthington, downtown Columbus and the Short North! Originally I was going to put up a quick 3-4 image sneak peek - but we had such a variety of locales - I just couldn't narrow it down! We did quite a bit of night shooting as well....

We are looking forward to their wedding at the Taft Museum in Cincinnati later this fall.....Here's just a few favorites!

Love this railroad bridge that crosses the Scioto River in downtown Columbus...and yeah, the lights in the background indicate a train is coming - but it never showed...bummer!

We always say, we're not ones to make you do goofy things or do the jump in the air kind of shots...however if you WANT to - we're more than happy to oblige by capturing absolutely anything you end up doing...... :)

Jason did a great job of plowing his way through a number of takes!

As things got dark - we headed into the Short North to work on some night time shots....gotta love this building!

A quick stop at one of Sarah & Jason's frequent hang outs......

The Short North is filled with all sorts of great little shops, restaurants, doorways, lights and neon...

Kelly & Ben...Cincinnati Street Session highlights...

Here's a few favorites from Kelly & Ben's recent Street Session in Cincinnati! We spent a little bit of time at Newport on the Levee and Yeatman's Cove before heading downtown to Fountain Square.

We got to Fountain Square just as some of the sunset was hitting Carew Tower real nicely...happened to be a nice, lively evening on the square too with "Salsa Night" going on....

I've also been absolutely dying to somehow incorporate part of Netherland Plaza into a session...so we headed over there to experiment with a couple of shots. It's nicknamed "the most beautiful room in Cincinnati", and with good reason. I had a couple of other ideas on how I wanted to use it though..more experimenting some other time I'm sure!

I wanted at least one shot to show the opulent entry area though....

We'll see you two in a few weeks!

Here's a few highlights from our recent day with Jenny and Drew! Ceremony was at the First United Methodist Church in Sidney, and their reception at A Learning Place in Piqua.

The church has this beautifully framed stained glass window in the balcony....

Their exit just might take the "Bird-seeding of the year" award!

Trust me, this was only the beginning....

Kim & Terry...sneak peek....!

Here's a quick glimpse from the fun day we had with Kim & Terry...we started the day off with a small family ceremony at Cox Arboretum...

Before heading down to the full reception, the bridal party stopped off at A Taste of Wine in Miamisburg for a quick break and a few photos...

Reception was at BeauVerre in Middletown, a stained glass studio that transforms into an uniquely beautiful host for the reception....

Hilary & Dan highlights....Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio....

We recently had a great day out at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base here in Dayton for Hilary & Dan's beautiful day. The weather was absolutely perfect! Here's some highlights from the day!

One thing that is always great about the Chapel there is the incredible glowing light that shines in almost all day long!

We also had a perfect sunset that made for some extra special time with the two of them as they rode around in their carriage and enjoyed some quiet time before heading into the reception....
